Evaluation criteria
We tested each tool by sending 50 real VINs (Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Suzuki, JLR) over WhatsApp and measuring five variables: decoding accuracy, time-to-quote, ERP/DMS integration, SSPL validation and total 12-month cost.
We excluded generic chatbots with no automotive context (Intercom, Drift, ManyChat). The focus is AI for selling auto parts with OEM knowledge, not messaging platforms with templates.

How to pick by volume and operation
Under 50 orders/month and no ERP — a DIY WhatsApp + GPT bot is enough to get started. You won't have serious VIN decoding or supersession validation, but the cost is marginal.
Between 50 and 500 orders/month with a local ERP or Shopify — RevolutionParts Chat or a custom OpenAI bot against your catalog can work. You'll see some fitment errors, but the volume doesn't yet justify an enterprise platform.
